Frühling 2020. Der erste Lockdown lief seit etwas mehr als einem Monat. Ich hatte viel Zeit zum Nachdenken. Prioritäten verschoben sich und eröffneten den Blick auf neue Perspektiven.
Ich nahm mir einen Tag frei. Frei von dem neuen Alltag. Ein Tag nur für mich, mit meiner Kamera im Wald. Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Ausdruck für das, was da gerade passierte, was ‚Corona‘ mit uns allen machte. Das, so fand ich, war weit mehr als eine physische Krankheit. Unsicherheit und Angst machte sich in der Gesellschaft breit. Die Nebenwirkungen eines Virus, unseres Umgangs mit Medien und des Umgangs der Medien und der Politik mit uns.
Doch was macht(e) das alles mir mit? Das Bild ‚2020‘ symbolisiert genau das: Fragilität, Wandel, zarter Neubeginn.

Spring 2020: The first lockdown had been running for a little over a month. I had a lot of time to contemplate. Priorities shifted and opened my eyes to new perspectives.
I took a day off. Off from the new daily routines. A day just for me, with my camera in the forest. I was looking for an expression for what was happening, what ‘Corona’ was doing to all of us. This, I found, was far more than a physical illness. Uncertainty and fear was spreading through society. The side effects of a virus, of how we dealt with media and how media and politics dealt with us.
But what does all this do to me? The image ‘2020’ symbolizes exactly that: fragility, change and a delicate new beginning.
